Make-A-Wish

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic is exclusively focused on fulfilling the one, true wish of each medically eligible child in our region. We exist to create a completely magical experience for each child, one that is specially tailored to that child’s hopes and dreams.

A wish fulfilled creates a memorable experience for a child fighting a life-threatening medical condition and gives him or her something positive to think about instead of medical treatments and hospital visits. Often, this “wish therapy” becomes a part of the treatment process.

However, the power of wishes doesn’t stop there. They directly impact the child’s family and those involved with the wish. Whether a child desires to be a model, go on a dinosaur dig, meet the Jonas Brothers, have a new play set or visit Walt Disney World® Resort, the magic of that experience touches and changes so many lives. Truly, that is the essence of sharing the power of a wish.
